Miss Gracie

This is Gracie, one of our recent Fosters. She has since gone to a lovely home and is living the doggie dream.

That's a smile on her face. She's happy, can't you tell?

Sicko

WOW. I just saw Michael Moore on Oprah talking about his new film Sicko . People, you must make it your mission to see this film!!! 250 Million of you have health care, but what do you really have? There are 50 Million of us who do not have HEALTH CARE. That's the equivilent to 100 times the names on the Viet Nam Memorial Wall. The US ranks #37 in the world in taking care of it's citizens, behind Costa Rica. WOW. Somethings gotta change. And now.

I need a home

I need a home. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease help me? I am the sweetest, cuddliest, grumbliest, amulance helping dog on the planet.

It Was 40 Years Ago Today...

Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play. 40 years??? Holy Crap, where did the time go? It remains a musical odessy that is fresh, vibrant, still relevant, and a great listening experience. If you don't own, go by it now. Your life will be better for it. and make sure that you listen start to finish (it's only about 42 minutes long; you've got that don't you?)

Think Mel Brooks in Blazing Saddles. I know you know what I'm talking about.

Let's see...where to start???

Job search. So much fun. So enlightening. It's like being the biggest dork in school. You ask a dozen girls to the prom, hoping that one will say yes. If more than one say yes, you deal with it. Suffice to say that a job search now is more complex that rolling out a new consumer product.

Mosaics. Always fun to talk about. Finishing up a couple of
Table Tops which will be posted on our site shortly. I love the fact that I get to smash crap up and put it back together. Very Zen.

Oh Good God

My father's Blogging. Someone find him a job. Soon.

The First Post

Good Day All!

The first posting of the new blog: how cool is that? Lots of things to rant about, discuss, wax poetically, speak extemporaneously about...

I will discuss our mosaics (http://www.broketile.com), our life, our dogs, and the most interesting and frustrating thing to do in life: THE JOB SEARCH.

We've all been down that humiliating road, right? Send out the resume, post it online, respond to ads, get automatically generated denials because...of what? Only having 2.5 years experience and the job post requires 3; Having many years of high dollar sales experience from C-Level down, but not having a 4 year degree. Since I have been recruiting since 7/05, I've discovered a lot about the process. Companies actually find ways to not interview potential employees. More on that later.....

Dogs: We have 2 dogs: Cajun, a 12 year Plott Hound and Spartacus, a 10 year old Great Dane.
We are also a Foster Home for The Rocky Mountain Great Dane Rescue. We currently have two Foster Dogs in the house: Little Foot and Chaos .
